We had a great experience at the hostel. the breakfast was amazing, with delicious bread and a fantastic kitchen that had everything we needed. the location was convenient, just a 20-minute walk from the station and close to many tourist attractions. the bed was comfortable and the private bathroom was nice. the staff were super amazing, with a rating of 10 for their kindness and helpfulness. I had a fantastic stay at R Star Hostel in Kyoto. The hostel is beautifully maintained and you can't even tell it's been open for 5 years. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The location is ideal, just one stop from Kyoto Station and close to many attractions. The kitchen is well-equipped and the breakfast, although basic, was sufficient. The hostel is also very clean and the rooms are comfortable with daily cleaning. I felt safe with the locks on the doors and the key access at night. I highly recommend this hostel for a great stay in Kyoto.

The suite at R Star Hostel was incredibly spacious with a big dining area, seating area, and bedroom area. the private bathroom was huge, and we loved the high-tech toilet. the staff was friendly and helpful, and the property was spotless and well-maintained. the bunk bed was comfortable and extra large, perfect for taller travelers. the shared area and kitchen were fully equipped and there was always ice water, tea, and coffee available. the breakfast provided a variety of delicious breads. we had a fantastic stay at this hostel.

The location of this hostel was great, with plenty of restaurants and a convenience store nearby. It was also only a short distance from the main train station, which made getting around the city very easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when I needed assistance with retrieving a lost item from another hotel. The cleanliness of both the rooms and the common areas was also impressive.

There were a few issues that detracted from my overall experience. the room size was quite small, which I understand is common for hostels in this area.
